    ATTIK ADDS NEW MEMBERS … AND PROMOTES SOME AS WELL


    Following its recent announcement of new hires and promotions affecting its new business and Scion account management and planning teams, global creative agency ATTIK recently announced five more new hires, as well as five promotions, once again for its San Francisco office.

    The new appointments include Jacob Ford in the position of creative director: digital, John Reid in the position of creative director, advertising, Ryan Schwedhelm in the position of copywriter, Melanie Magatelli in the position of senior print producer, and Patty Lum in the position of senior producer. ATTIK's co-founder and creative director Simon Needham also announced the promotions of several proven agency veterans, including Ron Lim to creative director, Paul Miller to associate creative director, Mike Brenner to senior copywriter, Greg Coffin to senior art director, and Gabe Nguyen to designer.

    NEXUS SIGN SUPER-COLLECTIVE MINIVEGAS

    A hotly watched talent, the Minivegas collective recently re-organised allowing it to refine its unique creative offering. Combining the directing talent and programming know-how of Luc Schurgers and Dan Lewis, Minivegas offers a focus on film and cross-platform projects (that pretty much everybody and their cat wants at the moment).

    Directing both animation and live action, Luc and Dan constantly push creative boundaries, using their broad spectrum of artistic and technical expertise to create work that conveys ideas through many different types of media and technology. Their pioneering work, such as their stunning voice-responsive idents for S4C, is earning them worldwide accolades, with wins at the Cannes Lions, the CADs and the D&AD. Alongside their film and interactive work Minivegas also run Vegas Gallery.

    With a strong reel in traditional commercial work for major brands (including Levis, GQ, Ray-Ban and Nissan) Minivegas recently directed a CG and live-action campaign for the release of the new Star Wars game. They also created the incredible Visualizer project - a virtual gallery that creates art in real time in response to music and gestures.     DUBAI ANNOUNCE JURIES


    The 2010 Dubai Lynx Awards, the leading creative advertising competition for the Middle East and Africa, will be chaired by three top industry leaders: Amir Kassaei Chief Creative Officer of DDB Group Germany, David Noblay Creative Chairman of Droga5 Australia and Barry Cupples CEO of Omnicom Media Group Asia Pacific.

    BROADWAY FILMS SIGN FEATURES DIRECTOR KARL GOLDEN

    UK bright-lights film company Broadway Films are delighted to announce that they will be representing features director Karl Golden for commercials in the UK market.

    Irish born Golden, who has just completed his third feature film, is the first locally based director that Courlander has signed since he started Broadway Films at the end of 2009.

    “I saw a preview of Karl’s film “Pelican Blood” and was taken aback by the calibre of his direction and the strength of his imagery”, said Courlander. Golden also directed “Belonging to Laura” a feature length drama which is loosely based on Oscar Wilde’s “Lady Windemere’s Fan”. “Belonging to Laura” was produced for TV3 in Ireland, and was exclsively aired to critical aclaim over the Xmas Holidays. “Karl’s films are one great moment after another, and his ability to bring out wonderful performances on incredibly tight schedules really impressed me.
