    BLINKART'S KYLE BEAN DRESSES SELFRIDGES

Blinkart (the pretty sister to ace London production company Blink) artist Kyle Bean has been commissioned by Selfridges to create a series of sculptural installations to fill the western “wonder room” windows of their flagship London store.

Inspired by the scientific theory that “matter cannot be created or destroyed, only transformed”, Kyle has delivered his most ambitious and public work to date. Each of the five installations presents alternate incarnations of the same materials, suspended in a state of perfect equilibrium on an oversized set of hanging scales.

All of the window pieces are amusing and fascinating to look at (and we know ‘cause we’ve seen ‘em!), but the probably the most impressive piece is in the largest window on the corner of Oxford Street, where two Honda Fireblade motorcycles are suspended side by side, one in its recognizable form and the other becomes an intricate mobile of all the individual components hanging in space. Installed on the 30th of June as a live art performance by Kyle and his team, some handy camera-folk were on hand to catch the action.

The installations will run until the 1st September 2010 and will be seen by over 125,000 people a day.

    2AM GET TASTY NEW SIGNING

Award winning food photographer Jason Lowe signs to 2AM Films for worldwide commercials representation.

Jason has a close association with the food world, working with some of the finest food producers and most inspirational chefs as well as legends such as Claudia Roden, Gennaro Contaldo and Fergus Henderson. He has collected two Glenfiddich awards for his food photography and has a regular column in The Independent on Saturday with Mark Hix. Jason is also Mark’s chosen photographer for his excellent cookery books. Delicious!

Together with his wife, food writer Lori De Mori, he set up the Towpath Cafe in N1 of which Timeout says “Towpath is a new venture from esteemed Italian-American food writer Lori De Mori (author of 'The Real Flavour of Tuscany', among others) and her husband, the equally esteemed food photographer Jason Lowe. With a pairing like this, you may rightfully expect food of impeccable judgment that also looks like it's come from the lush pages of a cookery book. You won't be disappointed. Everything we tried was a lesson in taste and restraint.
Magazines he regularly shoots for include Food and Travel, Food Illustrated and Saveur and his stills advertising clients include Birds Eye, Marks and Spencer, Pizza Hut and Sainsbury’s.

He has shot a series of promos for the re-launch of Fergus Henderson’s legendary ‘Nose To Tail’ books and is just about to shoot his first commercial starring Ravinder Bhogal winner of ‘The F word’s’ “Search for the new Fanny Craddock”.

    Mmmmmmmm.

JONATHAN VAN TULLEKEN GETS INTO THERAPY

Following last month's signings of Stephen Walker and Nico & Martin, our favourite monkey-in-a-hat mascotted production company Therapy has announce the arrival of another new director. Jonathan Van Tulleken.

Van Tulleken has already been named as a ‘Star Of Tomorrow’ by Screen International and Creativity magazine nominated him as one of the top 10 directors to watch. He's also been nominated for a BAFTA for his short film “Off Season’ for which he has also been commissioned to write and direct a feature length version, as well as being selected for a number of Film and TV awards, including Toronto, Slamdance , Edinburgh, BBC Shorts and Virgin Media Short films.

Jonathan has just completed shooting a commercial ‘Machine Child’, voiced by Kevin Spacey, to be used in the upcoming Farrelly Brothers feature film to be released later this year.Check it out here - it gave us the giggles.

With a strong appetite to break into advertising in London, and bring with him his untapped talent, we Reelers reckon he's got a bright future.
