David&Goliath Boost Their European Talent

0 Commentsadd commentIndependent creative agency David&Goliath (www.dng.com) has just announced the appointment of John Davis as Executive Creative Director of its European operations, which includes offices in London and Frankfurt.
Davis is one of several new hires for D&G Europe: Rob Porteous and Dave Askwith have also been named Creative Directors of D&G’s London office.
“Our expansion into Europe is important for us as an agency and also for our largest client, Kia, which is in the midst of an impressive turnaround,” said Angelo. “In John, Rob and Dave, we have a team with a deep knowledge of the auto industry and an outstanding track record of creating work that, under our mantra of Brave, will continue to bolster Kia’s share of the market in Europe.”

John Davis, 39, replaces Frazer Jelleyman, who left the agency in early 2010 to pursue other opportunities. Davis will be charged with overseeing creative for Kia Motors Europe, as well as supervising creative efforts in D&G’s Frankfurt and London offices. Davis will report to Angelo.
This is Davis’ second time working for D&G. From 2001 to 2004 he was as an associate creative director at the agency, producing award-winning work for clients including Kia, Mattel and Bacardi.
Joining Davis in D&G’s European network is creative team Rob Porteous and Dave Askwith, who will replace Ben Callis and Justin Barnes as Creative Directors of D&G London. Both will work on Kia Motors UK and Europe, and will report to Angelo and Davis.Porteous and Askwith have previously worked as creative directors at Saatchi and Saatchi working on clients such as Iams, Comet, Toyota and Visa. Their award winning work has garnered Cannes Lions, CLIOs and Eurobest honors, among others. Most recently the pair has been freelancing at various agencies in Europe including Wieden + Kennedy (Amsterdam and London), Naked Communications and DDB London.
